Räddningstjänst (BRT) is a municipal association in Eastern Värmland comprising the municipalities of Degerfors, Filipstad, Hällefors, Karlskoga, Kristinehamn, and Storfors. The organization employs approximately 200 staff members and operates 8 fire stations.

The alarm center's current operations began in 1997. Today, we receive various types of technical alarms from all six member municipalities, including fire, burglary, technical faults, elevator alarms, and safety alarms. We also relay information to municipal duty services and staff the association's telephone exchange.

We are now seeking dedicated on-call substitute staff who wish to work as needed in our alarm center.

About the position

As an alarm operator, you work in a vital public service role where you receive and handle incoming alarms and calls. The work requires you to remain calm, professional, and structured even in stressful situations.

Main responsibilities:

Working as an alarm operator in our center involves:

  • Responding to municipalities' safety alarms
  • Handling incoming alarms such as automatic fire alarms, burglary alarms, and technical fault alarms
  • Relaying information and contact to municipal duty services and other functions
  • Performing administrative tasks related to the alarm center's operations

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has another primary occupation (studies, part-time work, or own business)
  • Is seeking a long-term part-time job alongside their main activity
  • Has good availability and can step in with short notice
  • Is flexible and appreciates varying working hours
  • Is stress-resistant and service-oriented
  • Speaks and writes Swedish fluently
  • Has a couple of years of work experience
  • Is comfortable working with computers and multiple systems simultaneously
  • Has a high school diploma
  • Has a valid Category B driver's license

Personal qualities

To thrive in this role, you need:

  • Good ability to handle people in vulnerable situations calmly and professionally
  • Ability to gather and relay information clearly and efficiently, even under time pressure
  • Ability to manage changes in pace while maintaining good prioritization skills
  • Be structured and methodical even under high workload
  • Have good collaboration skills and be able to work with both internal and external actors
  • Be communicative, receptive, and clear in your communication style

Personal suitability will be given great weight.

Employment terms

Employment type: On-call employment (as needed)

Working hours: Shift work including days, evenings, weekends, and nights. The alarm center is staffed 24/7, year-round.

Start date: According to agreement
